Who was Guan Yu killed by| Pan Zhang | Sun Quan | Lv Meng | Liu Bei | Cao Cao|

During the Three Kingdoms period, a young general from Eastern Wu, also known as Ma Zhong, had the same name and surname as the famous Shu Han general Ma Zhong. He was a subordinate officer of the Eastern Wu general Pan Zhang. Originally, Ma Zhong was just an insignificant and unknown young player in Dongwu. However, two of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu Han, Guan Yu and Huang Zhong, were lost in the hands of this young general from Eastern Wu. Therefore, Ma Zhong was the king of collecting leaks during the Three Kingdoms period, having collected leaks twice in his life. The first time was to capture Guan Yu alive, and the second time was to shoot and kill Huang Zhong. Let’s take a look at Ma Zhong’s two great feats.
First leak: Capture Guan Yu alive
After receiving military orders from Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu actively prepared food and supplies, launched the Northern Expedition, and launched the Battle of Xiangfan. Due to Guan Yu’s great power, he captured Xiangyang and caused Cao Ren in Fancheng to retreat one after another. He also flooded the seven armies of Yu Jian and Pang De who came to rescue, which shook China. At this time, Sun Quan saw that Guan Yu had too much power and was likely to monopolize the nine counties of Jingzhou, so he sent Lu Meng to launch a surprise attack on Jingzhou. L ü Meng captured Jingzhou without bloodshed, while Guan Yu was surrounded by enemies from all sides and had no way back. Therefore, he was defeated in Maicheng and broke through towards Yizhou. However, Lv Meng had already calculated that Guan Yu would not break through from the mainland, but would break through through the treacherous path. He then divided his troops and dispatched generals:
May Zhu Ran lead 5000 elite soldiers to ambush 20 miles north of Maicheng; When the army arrives, do not engage with the enemy, only cover up afterwards. Their army is determined to have no fighting spirit and will run towards Linju. But he ordered Pan Zhang to lead five hundred elite soldiers and ambush on the secluded path of Linju Mountain, and Guan could be captured. Send soldiers to attack each gate now, leaving only the north gate empty, waiting for them to flee.
As expected, Guan Yu and others had no reinforcements and had to abandon Maicheng and break through through the small path. After only walking more than twenty miles, Guan Yu and his group were stopped by General Zhu Ran of the Wu army. Zhu Ran is not a match for Guan Yu, he led Guan Yu to the ambush. Guan Yu’s two fists were unable to compete with four hands, and he dared not fall in love with the battle. He fled towards the small path of Linju. Zhu Ran led troops to cover up and kill, and only two hundred soldiers followed Guan Yu to break through, with one less dead than the other. Guan Yu had just escaped from Zhu Ran when he was stopped by Pan Zhang. In just three rounds, he defeated Pan Zhang and continued to flee.
At this moment, there were only more than ten followers around Guan Yu, and Zhao Lei also died in the chaos of the army. After Guan Yu ordered Guan Ping to cut off, he opened the way in front of him. Suddenly, ambushes appeared on both sides, with long hooks and ropes, tripping Guan Yu’s red rabbit horse. Guan Yu was captured alive by Ma Zhongsheng, a general of Pan Zhang. Guan Ping wanted to save Guan Yu, but was surrounded by Pan Zhang and Zhu Ran, and was captured with all his strength. Zhu Ran and Pan Zhang, two generals of Eastern Wu, chased and intercepted Guan Yu in various ways, but in the end, they were caught alive by the young general Ma Zhong.
Shoot Huang Zhong to death
After Guan Yu was killed, Liu Bei mobilized the entire power of Shu Han to march eastward, causing the Wu army to retreat one after another. Liu Bei was very happy and said a useless word to the veteran. After hearing this, Huang Zhong refused to accept his old age, so he raised his sword and mounted his horse, and went out to fight against the Wu army. General Pan Zhang of Eastern Wu led his troops to battle against Huang Zhong with historical sites. The historical site bullied Huang Zhong’s old age, so they launched a fierce battle against him. The two fought for less than three rounds, and Huang Zhong slashed the historical site under his horse with one strike. Pan Zhang saw his general being killed, so he waved Guan Yu’s Green Dragon Crescent Blade and fought against Huang Zhong.
Huang Zhong fought fiercely with all his might, but Pan Zhang was unable to defeat him and turned around to escape. Huang Zhong achieved a complete victory in the first day of the battle. However, in the battle between Huang Zhong and Pan Zhang on the second day, Pan Zhang fled after a few rounds. Huang Zhong was eager to avenge Guan Yu, so he rode his horse and chased after Pan Zhang. When Huang Zhong was chasing Pan Zhang for thirty miles, he was ambushed. On the left was General Han Dang, on the right was General Zhou Tai, in front was Pan Zhang, and behind was Ling Tong, shouting and killing loudly from all sides. Although the four generals of Wu attacked the veteran Huang Zhong, Huang Zhong remained calm and prepared to retreat.
At this moment, the strong wind was raging, and Ma Zhong, who was hiding on the hillside, led his troops out and hit Huang Zhong’s shoulder with an arrow. Wu Jun saw Huang Zhong hit by an arrow and came to bully him, hoping to catch him alive. Fortunately, Guan Xing and Zhang Bao, two young players, arrived in time to save Huang Zhong. However, due to old age and physical weakness, Huang Zhong was hit by a bow and arrow, and his condition worsened. Liu Bei personally visited Huang Zhong and expressed his concern for him. However, Huang Zhong’s deadline had passed and he went to find Guan Yu that evening.
epilogue
Two of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu Han, Guan Yu and Huang Zhong, were both injured in the hands of Ma Zhong, a young general from Eastern Wu. Among them, Guan Yu tripped over a horse rope arranged by Ma Zhong and was subsequently killed by Sun Quan. Huang Zhong was shot by Ma Zhong with an arrow and died that night. But we can see from the process of Ma Zhongsheng capturing Guan Yu and shooting Huang Zhong that Ma Zhong took shortcuts, and his true abilities are not too great.
Zhu Ran and Pan Zhang, two generals, surrounded and intercepted Guan Yu, but were captured alive by Ma Zhong. Han Dang, Zhou Tai, Pan Zhang, and Ling Tong, four generals of Wu, attacked Huang Zhong but were caught by Ma Zhong and shot with an arrow. From this, it can be seen that Ma Zhong is not very powerful. If he were to single out ten opponents, he would not be a match for Guan Yu and Huang Zhong. However, he is the king of picking up leaks twice. He captured Guan Yu alive the first time and hit Huang Zhong the second time.
